  • Tumbling Thoughts: A Wild Writing Night at The Dot

June 19th 7-9 pm: A Lucky Star Collaboration with Ames Writer’s Collective Founder, Ana McCracken & The Dot (Tickets available soon)

A fun writing workshop for anyone! Enjoy an evening of creativity + curated cocktails + mocktails (and post workshop mingling & an opportunity to shop writing-inspired goods by local makers).

Using prompts to inspire our writing, we will write together as fast as we can, pen never leaving the page. By writing quickly, we quiet the inner critic-allowing our stories to tumble upon the page. After we write, participants will be invited to read aloud. This therapeutic technique is a wonderful way to jumpstart any writing practice or project.

Ana McCracken, Founder of the Ames Writers Collective, has provided outreach writing programs since 2021 to cancer patients and survivors, adolescents, and adult 50+ writers. McCracken’s writing workshops are based in the Wild Writing practice founded by Laurie Wagner, and the Amherst Writers & Artists method, a philosophy that believes everyone is a writer. Her writing and poetry is published in literary journals and anthologies.
